under construction), members can view our monthly Bulletins containing programmes
and activities by typing the address on any search engine. They are also
welcome to contribute any article, comment or picture to be published therein.

Film Appreciation Workshop held :
The quarterly Film Appreciation Workshop organized by the Dept of
Information and Public Relations, Government of Bihar was held at Patna during
16 to 24 May 2012 during which the participants also made two short films,
guided by trainers. As usual most of the faculty were members of our society;
our President R N Dash was the Chief Coordinator and our member Vinod Anupam
was the Coordinator as usual. The faculties included our members Dr N N Pandey,
Dr J M Deo and Mrs Minati Chaklonavis. The films screened and analyzed included
the unreleased feature Handover by Saurabh, who also
participated in the interaction, and a documentaryfilm on late social activist
Mrs Sen made by Dr N N Pandey. The young film maker Nitin Chandra (Director of Deswa
and Des)
also devoted an afternoon in interacting with the participants.
Screening
Programme for June 2012 in Buddha Marg, Patna (Dr Sen’s Premises)
Due to non-arrival of both the German films planned to be screened last
month, we screened two films from Hungary which arrived in stead. Hence we
propose to screen the two German films this month of which the synopses have
already been circulated last month. In addition we will screen five short
films selected out of those shown in the Kolkata short film festival, as
per the following programme :

by Sunil K Sardar, 28 minutes; on landscape and life in the Spiti valley; (2) Soliloquy,
by Pracheta Sammajdar, 18 minutes; about self-realization of six friends
meeting after an year; (3) Atmahatya, by Probir Roy, 21
minutes; on frustrations of Sujoy, an unsuccessful Medical Representative,
prompting him to take the extreme step; (4) Nasheeb – The Destiny, by
Sudhir Nadkarni, 11 minutes; depicting the worries of a young wife when her
working husband does not return home one night; (5) The Film by Tiyash Sen &
Sambit Mondal, 5 minutes; A psychological film dealing with dual identities of
the protagonist based on the rhetoric and synecdoche philosophies of Aristotle.
